Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How should Innergy be consumed?
A. You can mix Innergy with juice or water, blend it with your favourite fruit and make a smoothie, sprinkle on your cereal or however you like! We recommend not to mix with hot foods as this may kill the bacteria. Also it is advised not to consume hot drinks immediately after taking Innergy as this can also kill the bacteria.
Q. How much should I give to my child?
A. We recommend to start slowly with children gradually increasing over time. Children can take up to ½ a teaspoon daily. Mix into yoghurt, porridge (once cool enough for the children it is fine for the bacteria), fruit juice etc.

Q. Is it safe to take Innergy while pregnant?
A. Yes absolutely you can take Innergy while pregnant.  As Innergy is completely natural with 100% organic and non-GMO ingredients, it is well suited to take during pregnancy. It is important to keep healthy during pregnancy, the multi-vitamins from the wholefoods provide essential nutrients and the probiotics help to keep the immune system strong, and this will be passed on to the baby. It is also fine to take Innergy while breastfeeding - it is safe and effective as it is an important nourishment to both you and your baby.

Q. When taking Innergy do I still need to take a multi vitamin?

A. Innergy is not only a probiotic but also an effective multi-vitamin itself due to the wholefoods in the product. These wholefoods are fermented with the bacteria to provide comprehensive nutrition so could be used in place of a multivitamin. Also worth noting is that most multi-vitamins come in pill form which are often made with fillers and are difficult for the body to digest and get the full benefit from.

 Q. Do I need to take a digestive enzyme?

A. Digestive enzymes are important to be able to get all the goodness out of the food you eat, and your body’s organs are able to produce all the enzymes you need to digest carbs, protein and fat. Digestive enzymes such as Amylase, Protease & Lipase are secreted by the salivary glands, stomach, pancreas, and the small intestine. You can also get some digestive enzymes from the food you eat, such as raw fruits and vegetables, sprouted seeds, raw nuts, whole grains, and legumes. Getting your digestive enzymes out of your food however is really dependant on how much you chew your food. When you chew your food, enzymes such as Amylase, which is produced by the salivary glands, breaks complex carbohydrates to smaller chains to aid digestion. So, the single most important thing to do is to chew your food properly to ensure the maximum digestive enzymes are produced. Fermented foods such as Innergy, which contains multiple raw wholefoods is a great source of digestive enzymes to supplement those produced by your own body.

Q. Will Innergy have any effect on medications I am taking?
A. Innergy is a food so shouldn't have any effect on your medications however if you have any concerns please consult with your health professional

Q: Can I take Innergy when I have Diabetes?

A: Yes, Innergy is safe for people with Diabetes. Innergy does not contain added refined sugars and with only 1.8 grams of carbohydrates per serve the effect on blood glucose is minimal. Further to this, there is much evidence suggesting that probiotics support the reduction of inflammatory responses and oxidative stress, which in turn may assist to reduce insulin resistance.

Q. Can I take too much Innergy?
A. Innergy is a food hence you cannot take too much, however you may experience more intense healing responses such as an upset tummy or diarrhoea if you take a lot in one sitting. We recommend taking one or two teaspoons per day however this can be increased depending on your own body's needs and response.

Q. Can I experience a negative reaction to Innergy?
A. What you may perceive as a negative reaction, is actually the positive result of your body beginning to detox, and this is part of that process. When your body starts receiving the good bacteria and vital nutrients direct to the cells, it is able to eliminate toxins that have been stored in the cells that aren’t needed. These toxins can be stored in many parts of your body, so symptoms such as headaches or joint aches are not uncommon as the toxins are being released from these areas. ‘Bowel evacuation’ is one of the most common symptoms of the body detoxifying, as the bacteria clean out the (on average) 5-7kgs of food that we eat and get trapped in the colon.

Q. Can a person with gluten intolerance take Innergy?
A. Yes! Innergy is made with Gluten free ingredients and is tested by an independent company to be certified Gluten Free.

Q. How many bacteria are in Innergy?
A. Every batch of Innergy is tested to ensure high numbers of active colony forming units (CFU) per gram. Each CFU has approximately 1,000,000 (1 million) bacteria in that colony (this is when there is enough bacteria to be visible as a colony and can then be counted). So if a batch test comes out at >10,000 live CFU's per gram, for example, that would mean that batch has a MINIMUM of 10,000,000,000 (10 billion) actual bacteria per gram. An adult serving of 1 teaspoon is 5 grams which would be minimum 50 billion bacteria. These are minimum numbers as our bacteria are alive and so are multiplying all the time (live bacteria multiply every 20 minutes).
Q. Why doesn’t the label state how many bacteria are in the product?
A. Innergy is manufactured via a natural fermentation process so the number of live bacteria will always vary, each batch will be different and it would be impossible to state a number of bacteria on the product label as live bacteria are constantly multiplying (and we would have to change our label for every batch!). This is why a batch test is important to ensure that there are actually LIVE bacteria in the product, this is much more important than a number. Most products that state a number of bacteria are freeze dried or in pill form where the bacteria are inert (and therefore not multiplying) when ingested, and need favourable gut conditions to reactivate in the gut, whereas Innergy is working from the moment it enters your mouth.

Q.How do I tell if Innergy is working?
A. There is no one answer to this as everybody is different and will respond differently. It will likely depend on your current diet and active lifestyle as to the changes you may notice. The real question is where else are you getting your nutrients and how are you replacing the good bacteria? Both are essential to good health so regardless if your body shows major changes or subtle ones the key is to replace bacteria daily and to saturate the body with nutrients.
Q. Where is Innergy manufactured?
A. Innergy is manufactured in Australia. All ingredients are Certified Organic and none of them have been genetically engineered. The wholefoods are combined with the bacteria and beneficial yeasts using an exclusive fermentation process, which ensures active, viable bacteria and pre-digested natural nutrients. Only the finest ingredients available are used to make Innergy.
Q. Where does the bacteria come from?
A. Our bacteria come from the soil and are bred on organic fruits and vegetables, unlike many bacteria which is taken from faecal matter. In addition, our bacteria are organic and have not been genetically modified. It was natures intention that we obtain these bacteria strains by consuming fruits and vegetables grown in the soil they originate from. However theses days our soils are so depleted of natural good bacteria so we need to get them in other ways.
Q. How long will I have to take Innergy for?
A. Each day our bodies lose approximately 50mls of bacteria and therefore to replace this we need to take one teaspoon of Innergy daily for the rest of our lives. This is due to the fact that in modern society the bacteria are being killed daily through antibiotic therapy, heat and cold in the processing of foods, chemicals in fizzy drinks, stress, fluorides, chlorides, salt, and alcohol to name just a few. Once you have taken Innergy every day for a few months, then you could adjust to a maintenance dose every couple of days if you are not training hard or competing. Otherwise it is recommended to take Innergy every day while training and competing as the key is consistency and taking it regularly to maintain peak performance.
Q. Do I need to take a prebiotic?
A. Prebiotics are simple sugars that the bacteria require to keep them alive. Innergy contains molasses for the bacteria to feed on so there is no need to take a prebiotic.
Q. Do I need to take a probiotic if I am prescribed an antibiotic?
A. Yes. Antibiotics are used to destroy harmful bacteria in the body causing infection. However they also kill off the good bacteria our bodies need to stay healthy. Therefore, a good probiotic like Innergy is imperative to be taken before, during and after a course of antibiotics to ensure a healthy balance of good bacteria is in the body.
Q. Does it make any difference if I take Innergy before, with, or after food? A. Innergy can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food. It is best to incorporate it into your daily routine, and not to be mixed with hot foods or beverages, as this may affect the integrity of the bacteria.
Q. How are the bacteria in Innergy different from other bacteria?
A. There are 13 strains of Lactobacillus Bacteria in Innergy. These bacteria are organic and are taken from fruits and vegetables. Eighteen years of research and $2.5m have been invested to evolve these bacteria into a super strain that are resistant to many of the things that could kill them. The formula also contains all of their favourite foods so they do not compete with each other to protect their food source.
Q. Do I have to refrigerate the product?
A. The bacteria in Innergy have been bred to withstand temperatures of up to 55°C for up to a week, and therefore it does not need to be refrigerated to keep the bacteria alive. However as it is a food, for ultimate protection of the nutrients once opened you may wish to keep your Innergy refrigerated like any other food, or kept in a cool dry place.

Q. How long does the product last?
A. The shelf life of Innergy is 2 years.
Q. I would like to make frozen smoothies for the kids, what effect would freezing have on Innergy?
A. Freezing has no effect on the bacteria so frozen smoothies are fine.
Q. I feel sick after taking Innergy, what is happening?
A. Some people experience what is called a “healing response". Most people are very toxic from the effects of prescription drugs, bad eating habits and an accumulation of preservatives eaten over the years. Once the body starts to receive proper nutrients and the good bacteria start to destroy the bad bacteria a healing response may follow. This is a good sign - it means the body is detoxifying itself and it is important to continue taking the product throughout the healing process to ensure the health benefits are realised. Some people experience aches or pains, some flu like symptoms, diarrhoea, or a general unwell feeling. This can last up to a week. If it becomes too uncomfortable then take less Innergy until the healing response passes. Also drink lots of water to assist the elimination process.
Q. I am allergic to one of the ingredients should I still take it?
A. More than likely since the ingredients have been pre-digested by the bacteria you should have no problem. However it is prudent to be careful so try just a ½ teaspoon and see how your body responds. Most allergies to foods are the result of the improper balance of bacteria in your intestinal tract. You may find after using the product that these allergies disappear.
Q. What tests have been done to prove your live bacteria actually makes it through the stomach acid "alive" and then into the intestines still "alive"?  A. Over 18 years of research and 2.5 million dollars of investment was spent to develop a super strain of bacteria that is contained in Innergy. The main killers of bacteria were identified, which include anti-biotic therapy, colas, synthetic ascorbic acid, heat, cold, fluorides, chlorine's, preservatives, salt, alcohol, and stress, and through a unique process the bacteria contained in Innergy have been evolved to be resistant to most of these killers. This resulted in a super strain of bacteria that have the power to overcome even the most stubborn bad bacteria, yeasts and stomach environments.
Q. Why shoud I take Innergy for nutrition?
A. Much of the time disease can be the result of poor nutrition and a symptom of an intestinal tract that has been compromised. The single greatest thing we can do to protect our health is to replace the bacteria that are responsible for all nutrient absorption, the making of enzymes and getting rid of the bad bacteria. Add to this a nutrient saturation formula that provides all the essential nutrients from organic whole food sources. This daily ritual will become the most important thing you can do in life. Once people realise the relationship of bacteria, nutrients and good health, then it becomes very easy to understand the importance of taking a good quality probiotic powerfood such as Innergy.
Q. What proof do I have that Innergy will help me?
A. The best proof you need is in the experience. No amount of evidence that we provide can determine how Innergy will help you, the only real judge is you. Try Innergy for yourself and then tell us how it affected you.
